Villa Amanda
From RM800/night
Where the paddy fields meet the mountains.
Sawah means paddy field.
It is the heartbeat of kampung life, where time moves with the rhythm of planting and harvest, where mornings begin with birdsong, and evenings end with the mountains turning gold.
Set among open paddy fields, with Gunung Raya rising in the background, this is the quieter side of Langkawi.

Past the pond and palms, the pace changes again. The villas sit quietly within the landscape, with private pools, shaded courtyards and room for everyone to gather.

The pool is yours, but the island is close. Start slow in the villa, then follow the village road toward the paddy, the markets, the mangroves and the mountains.
Langkawi is known for the sea. But beyond the shoreline, the island softens into paddy fields, mountain roads, mangrove rivers, village lanes, waterfalls, and night markets.

Depending on the season, the fields may be flooded like mirrors, or golden with harvest. Walk the bunds at sunrise. Watch Gunung Raya catch the light. If you are here for the harvest, you will not forget it.

Quiet lanes, local stalls, kampung houses, bicycles, birdsong, lotus blooms on the water, geese wander and the slow rhythm of everyday island life.

Langkawi is a UNESCO Global Geopark. Mangroves, caves, waterfalls, beaches, sunset roads, and the evening crowd of Pantai Cenang.
Ahmad Zaki, locally known as Cikgu Zaki, grew up in Kedah, watching every season turn: the green shoots rising, the harvest that brought the whole village together. The land was not something he admired. It was something he belonged to.
When he built Villa Sawah, he was not thinking about tourism. He was thinking about what it means to really rest. To wake without rushing. To eat well, breathe deeply and let the children run free in a place that is safe, alive and full of wonder.
He wanted people from all over the world to experience what he grew up knowing: that slow living is not a trend. In Kedah, it is simply how things are. Villa Sawah is his way of sharing all of it.
